The Vocational Training Project at Future Victory School, the school Humanity Healing International supports in Uganda, continues to grow. This season, the special high-yield, extra-hardy hybrid cassava we introduced to the region has continued to produce extremely well. There was enough yield to share cuttings for 67 new families in the area.
One of the hallmarks of Humanity Healing projects is the element of community service. We believe that the best way to reweave individuals back into the fabric of society is through the teaching of selfless service at the community level. This is particularily true of orphaned children. It is through the helping of others that instills the sense of a valued place in the community that is so important to children growing into well-balanced adults that will, in turn, help others in need.
As an aside, the number of children at Future Victory School has grown from 458 to 620. Our deep Gratitude to you and GlobalGiving for helping to make this growth possible.
The Animal Husbandry program has also seen some growth. Nine goats were sold off to buy another cow, leaving 21 goats. With the birth of a calf, we are now up to 6 cows and self-sufficient for the milk supply for the current immediate needs for the school. This has freed up funds for other much-needed supplies.
We are waiting for new pictures and will post them as soon as they are available.
With Deep Gratitude,
