Dear Donor,
we hope you are well! We'd like to bring you the news of our work in Afghanistan and Uganda.
Together with local partners, we are establishing twelve community-based learning centers in Afghanistan. At the same time, we are strengthening local structures to ensure that these educational programs are sustainable in the long term.
The staff at the learning centers do more than just teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. They create a learning environment where children feel safe, can ask questions, and build self-confidence.
In Uganda’s Alebtong District two years ago, many children at the seven project schools faced major challenges: dilapidated latrines, a lack of handwashing facilities, and limited access to clean water made everyday school life difficult.
Today, after the successful end of our project at these seven schools, more than 11,000 children benefit from improved learning and hygiene conditions. Clean drinking water, safe sanitation facilities, education on hygiene and menstruation, and the strengthening of school communities have helped ensure that more children attend school regularly and have better opportunities for education.
