For the months of January and February, I had the pleasure of sharing and learning with the young scholars of Friendship Public Charter School at the Southeast Elementary branch. With Mr. Buffin, we focused on successfully co-creating rhyming couplets (raps) to explain how to find perimeter and area. In Ms. Baines class, we created rhyming poetry that spoke their personal perspective of their individual identity. Peer evaluations were also done to assess volume, artistic integrity, vocal clarity, and stage presence. The students were animated and excited to share EVERY DAY. It was an energizing experience and I look forward to returning.
