Since its inception in 2010, the victory gardens project has been creating positive impacts, though very slowly. The introduction of value increasing and climate resilient techniques for adaption using systems of water harvesting and efficient and small-scale irrigation techniques have become exemplary. I recently, I received the following information from one of our volunteers,
"The Atebes Development Association is establitioned in Addis Ababa , the capital city of Ethiopia. The new Development Association decided to give an Award your a certificate of recognition for your contribution in the introduction and success of the Victory Garden Project and the the successful planting of the edible apple trees, .the Gabion tarracing system and the water harvesting reservoir."
The email added,
I believe that our project was one of the main reasons for the establishment of the Atebes Development Associateion. Please continue your support and spread the word so that we can complet the project and work on upscaling it. The current success is your success and should be proud of your participation. This recognition by people who were born in the village will make us more dedicated to continuing our climate resilient development strategy in the village and beyond. Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you.
