By Amanuel Gebru | Project Volunteer from the field
Greetings
I am very happy to share what is happening on the field here in the village.
The Kremt rainy season was over in September. Reports and observation by out volunteers indicate that the rainy season was above normal and great However, the rains continued beyond the growing season and affected the harvest by reducing yield.
The good rains were useful to fill our projects water harvesting tankers. The water tanks are completely full./ This will be good to water the fruit trees during the coming dry season. The in situ water harvesting system continues to provide water to the community and the animals.
Because of the good rains the apple trees are in the flowering stage. The students and the farmers are very hopeful that they will have successful apple harvest this year. We will share with you the outcome when in our next report.
Again, thank you for your support. I hope you will advise your friends and family to include our project into their holiday giving.
Merry X-Mass and Happy New Year
Amanuel
