For 25+ years we have served Venezuela's most vulnerable children. The June 2026 earthquake has dramatically increased the need. We are scaling up our emergency response now
On June 24, 2026, two back-to-back earthquakes - magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 - shook Venezuela in less than a minute. Over 920 people have been confirmed dead. More than 3,300 are injured. Thousands are missing. Caracas and the coastal communities of El Litoral have been devastated: buildings collapsed, hospitals damaged, families displaced, and children left without food, medicine, or shelter.
Our emergency response covers six areas: emergency and primary healthcare, access to essential medicines, food assistance and nutrition, clean water and hygiene services, psychosocial support for trauma survivors, and temporary shelter supplies. With 25+ years of presence in Venezuela and teams already operating in the earthquake zones, we are scaling up immediately to reach thousands of children and families in their most critical moment of need.
This response will strengthen Venezuela's humanitarian infrastructure beyond the crisis. Trained community health workers, a reinforced anchor hospital, and sustainable supply networks will remain long after the emergency ends. Every child reached today grows up healthier and better supported. We have stayed in Venezuela for 25 years when others left. We will stay now, and long after the cameras are gone.
