Please accept our sincere gratitude for your donations towards the Volunteer Corps (VC) Coaching Program.
Since 1992, VC has upheld the tradition of providing free intensive coaching and mentoring sessions to public secondary school students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. This year, VC is committed to tutoring 10,000 children for free in the State of Osun to improve the results of students of public secondary schools in Osun State.
The Volunteer Corps 2018/2019 coaching session commenced in December 2018 and about 3,000 students have been enrolled into the programme with about 91 volunteers in 16 centres. Parental consent was obtained for all the enrolled students via consent Forms and the students were tested before the commencement of the coaching programme to ascertain their level of knowledge in the subject areas they would be tutored. Classes are organised during the weekends, from Friday to Sunday. Teaching Materials were bought and distributed to the various coaching centres and plans are ongoing to distribute study materials to the students.
Enrolment into the 2018/2019 coaching session is still ongoing as more students are being admitted into the programme even as at the time of this report.
