The past few months have been very busy at our transit home in Dhading. We have recently managed to link a number of children with good children's homes. All the stories are very touching and we wanted to share with you the one of Binu and Bishal.
We rescued Bishal (9) and his sister Binu (12) a few months ago from their village. They used to live in a cave and their dad died shortly after the earthquake. Bishal had preexisting eye problems and the doctors predicted that he would go completely blind before the age of 30. We provided him with 2 eye operations and now he can see clearly.
Binu’s mum left the village with another man and left Bishal with no care and in the meantime arranged for little Binu to get married. This is illegal in Nepal but still a tradition in many villages. We found a wonderful children's home in Kathmandu that was happy to give permanent loving home to both of the children. Two of our previous children from Dhading, Lila and Sunita, had already been referred there four months before Binu and Bishal joined them.
This was a happy reunion as Sunita and Binu became best friends in Dhading and little Lila was always looked after by the older girls. The children are starting school in about a week and we can't wait to hear how their future progresses. And we hope we can provide more happy endings like this one.
And as always - thank you for all the support!
