This report serves as a formal update regarding our project aimed at introducing Miyawaki urban forestation to combat the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in Sukkur. Because our crowdfunding campaign on the GlobalGiving platform did not reach the target fundraising goal required to cover initial operational costs—such as intensive soil preparation, native sapling procurement, and irrigation setup—we were unable to implement the project. Consequently, there are no programmatic activities, field deployments, or implementation data to report for this cycle.
We are deeply grateful to the donors who showed interest in our climate resilience efforts. In line with GlobalGiving’s policies, any funds raised during the campaign will be managed transparently and redirected toward supporting our ongoing community development and environmental initiatives in Sindh. Pahel Pakistan will keep the project blueprints and urban heat mapping on file for future funding opportunities, and we remain fully committed to addressing climate challenges in Sukkur when alternative resources become available.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
