1. Introduction
The “Uphold Sexual Minority Rights in the Great Lakes Region” project continued to advance the promotion and protection of the rights of sexual minorities through advocacy, awareness creation, community engagement, and legal empowerment initiatives. The project primarily focuses on combating stigma, discrimination, hate speech, and human rights violations affecting LGBTQI+ individuals in Rwanda and across the Great Lakes Region.
During this reporting period, HRFRA strengthened community-based advocacy efforts aimed at promoting equality, inclusion, peaceful coexistence, and respect for human dignity. Activities were implemented despite persistent social stigma and limited operational resources.
