Educating the general population about sexual minorities in society and their specific economic and health needs is very important as a vulnerable group.
There still remain vital questions surrounding exactly what education needs to be provided, who is responsible or best positioned to provide such education, and how knowledge should be disseminated.
It is against this background that Human Rights First Rwanda Association organized three roundtable meeting with 20 representative of sexual minorities ,10 health workers officials and 10 Main stream Civil society members to forge a way forward on how to educate the general populace more especially during this COVID-19 pandemic outbreak on issues pertaining to the needs of sexual minorities.
After the roundtable meetings it was resolved ultimately, Sexual Minorities groups with the help of some mainstream NGOS and other allies should have a central role in producing and disseminating knowledge to ensure that educational interventions contain accurate content and are delivered and they should also play their own role of being self-advocates and those of their peers either through radio broadcasts, print media, Meetings and administrative representations.
