Celebrating International Day against Homophobia (IDAHO)
Globally the international Day against Homophobia is celebrated to commemorate the strive for equality of the LGBTI community and the attempts to put an end to Homophobia.
In Rwanda Human Rights First Rwanda Association took this opportunity to celebrate the day with members of the Sexual Minority Groups nationwide.
The day comprised prayer sessions dancing and singing and also speeches from invted guests and well-wishers alike.
Parents of members belonging to the community were also present to give testimonies of how ones orientation couldn’t force them to negate their children but rather support them in their day to day lives.
There was also a luncheon organized by the community for the attendees.
