PROJECT UPDATE:
We are excited to report that we are getting ready to launch our new Unsilence exhibit. Our Unsilence team has been working to curate and build the interactive online exhibit, which is narrated by the women of The Sisterhood, a collective of mothers, each of whom has lost of child to gun violence.
Featuring original photographs by artist Cecil McDonald, Jr., the exhibit is based on group interviews about the women's experiences and continuing reflections about their children. The photographs were taken in locations chosen by the women, in their homes and neighborhoods on Chicago's South Side and surrounding areas.
The exhibit invites audiences to reflect on and bear witness to how, together, the women support each other in grief, and take action toward justice and healing.
We're looking forward to announcing our launch date soon!
All our best,
The Unsilence Team
