We at Thabyay Education Network would like to extend our gratitude to all of you who have donated to our ‘University Scholarships for Students from Burma’ project on GlobalGiving.
The Thabyay Education Foundation helps students settle into university and get the most out of their academic studies and organizes scholarship students at different universities in different countries to build networks, compare experiences, and meet experts in a range of relevant fields.
1)Trip to Lashio, Northern Shan State
A presentation on Youth and Education Opportunity for Wa Students was organized by the Wa Students Association at Lashio, Northern Shan State and there were nearly 70 students attended our session. Our trip shared various kinds of information for indigenous people to pursue their education.
2)Trip to Myitkina, Kachin State
A special talk on “Scholarship Opportunities “was given at 17th Youth Day of Kachin Theology College Seminary, Education Fair, Nawng Nang, Myintkyina where 3000 youths from four districts of Myintkyina attended.
We hope that this report shows clearly the potential of these scholarship recipients to become catalysts for incremental social change in Burma, and that you can appreciate the direct link between quality higher education and grassroots development in communities in Burma. We also hope that it demonstrates that even the smallest contribution of US$ 10 can make a difference in terms of keeping a Burmese scholarship student in university education.
We would like to say again our gratitude to all of you who have helped raise funds for this project by making donations and spreading the word. We hope that this report will inspire you to continue to support us in the future. The beneficiaries of these awards, the students, have individually expressed their gratitude to us for the support they have received. We would like to pass on their thanks to you.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
