University of the People is continually expanding our worldwide partnerships in order to open the gates of higher education to as many students worldwide as possible. Corporate partners, organizations, and generous individuals make our mission to democratize education a reality.
As online learning becomes a growing trend worldwide, we believe that education should be a right for all, and not a privilege for a few. This trend of online learning provides the necessary tools to reach those who were previously constrained and unable to access higher education. UNESCO stipulates by 2025, 98 million individuals will be unable to attend university because there won't be enough places at existing universities. Additionally, tuition rates are skyrocketing worldwide. University of the People provides the online tuition-free solution.
To date, over 1500 students from 137 countries have been admitted. UoPeople continued to attract grassroots support- with more people showing their support by joining its Facebook page- and continued to attract media attention- appearing in numerous news articles. It worked on its scholarship system, warding scholarships to deserving students, including several women. It also opened a Micro-Scholarship Portal, where donors can help students in need directly. It also strengthened its academic leadership and top administration, adding new board members and academic personnel to its advisory boards.
This project aims to raise funds to help support UoPeople's efforts and mission to democratize higher education.
Thank you very much for your generous donations.
