Thanks to the amazing support received from donors and thanks to his very hard work and determination in overcoming all the obstacles put in his way throughout his life, Abel has finished university, passed his final exams with flying colours and will (subject to Covid) be attending his graduation ceremony next month! We are all thrilled with his performance and achievements. This young man has excelled beyond all expectations and we are so proud of him.
Abel is now hoping to find a job in the world of agriculture to put his degree to good use and to become self-sufficient. That will be the next obstacle to overcome as jobs are not easy to find in the current climate but we hope he will be successful as he deserves to be.
In the meantime, Jacob returned to university a few weeks ago when the current lockdown was lifted and is much encouraged by Abel's performance to push through his last year and graduate.
Child Rescue Kenya will be keeping this project active in order to continue to raise support for Jacob but we plan to either set up a new project or make changes to this one to enable us to raise support for a number of other youths in our community we are trying to assist with various types of third level education, in particular vocational training. So, watch this space!
Thank you to everyone who helped Abel successfully complete university!
