Dear Partner,

As we join the global conversation of economic growth and unemployment, we have positive news to share, thanks to YOU! While there is a lot being said about an increasing unemployment rate in India, you have enabled hundreds to swim against the tide and challenge the current economic trends. Students pursuing their final year under-graduate studies are ready to step out into the corporate world with a job of their dreams, already in hand.

Becoming an engineer was a cherished desire of Sagar, a student of DSF since high school. His father, an auto rickshaw driver, struggled to make ends meet to ensure his son got a professional degree. Extremely determined, Sagar fully utilized DSF education and development facilities and was a distinction student throughout his education. Dealing with severe bronchial problems, he was advised to stay indoors and was on constant medication, but this did not deter him from participating in all sessions conducted by DSF. A confident young man, today he has a job as a Design Engineer in an organization which works in the area of Aerospace and defence. He now comes back to the DSF centre and motivates high school students to pursue their education.

Scoring 93% in her 10th grade, Aishwarya was selected for the DSF TenPlus programme, based on her merit and dire family conditions. Her father was incapacitated due to an eye issue, leaving her mother as the sole bread winner, for the family of four. This took a toll on her health and she had to discontinue her employment, which forced Aishwarya’s brother to take up employment and support the family. Living in a house which could barely accommodate two people, Aishwarya managed to score 81% in her engineering course and is now employed with the prestigious Tata Consultancy Services. This has given a big boost to her family and a great new beginning for her.

An aspiring Chartered Accountant, Chaitra was selected by DSF when she started 11th grade. Scoring 92%, she was quietly focussed on her studies and extremely hard working. Her father, a taxi driver and her mother, a homemaker, are very supportive of her education. Managing a full time degree course and studying for a professional course entrance is not a simple task, but Chaitra still managed to score above 80% in all her exams. Today, she has a job with Northern Trust bank, which has given her the necessary security to pursue her dream of becoming a professional, while being able to support her family financially.

These successes reinforce our faith in the results your support can produce! YOUR investment has secured the lives and futures of hundreds of youth and their families even in this uncertain economy! It has empowered them and given them an edge to have a fair chance at creating a future for themselves. It has not only opened doors for them, but consequently, laid the foundation for a better tomorrow for the future generations.

We are deeply grateful for your partnership and look forward to empowering hundreds of more youth!
