Dear Friends,

The last quarter of the calendar year 2017, was a very exciting and eventful quarter for our students! As part of our Finishing School programme, students studying in the final and pre-final university classes were involved in various eventful activities.

Our Finishing School programme aims to provide opportunities for students, which would equip them with skills and confidence, giving them a competitive edge and an equal chance at success. Various workshops and sessions were organized towards this effort. Communication being a critical factor for success both in professional and personal life, workshops by corporate Toastmaster’s Clubs were organized, where through a series of interactive sessions, students learnt how to effectively communicate and also developed their leadership skills. Intensive Presentation Skills workshops helped build their creativity, clarity of thought and self-esteem. Students were provided an opportunity to present before senior employees of PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC), one of the Big 4 auditing organizations in the world. Here, they were provided individual feedback and areas of improvement by the PWC team, further strengthening their confidence. Experience and exposure being valuable teachers, students were taken on a corporate visit to Twitter’s India office, where they understood a lot more about social media and how to utilize it for better career prospects. They had an opportunity to interact with volunteers and create their individual HashTags, which was not only a fun activity but also reinforced their individuality.

Apart from ongoing academic sessions, weekend learning circles, driven by volunteers, provided students with an opportunity to go beyond their textbooks and gain in-depth knowledge not only in academics, but also in subjects of their passion. Strengthening their skills to become independent and effective learners, sessions were conducted on Study Skills, where students learnt various techniques to maximize their study time, effective time management and how to handle stress.

Workshops on dance and theatre were conducted which culminated in performances at various events. As the calendar year drew to a close, a New Year party was organized for the students at our Education and Development center, with a lot of fun and games, in which they participated with great fervour! The students reminisced their journey over the year, the things they had learnt and shared their dreams and plans for the next year.

Thank YOU for all your support and contributions, which translated into great learning experiences and transformations for many youth from underserved backgrounds, who lacked such possibilities earlier! As these future leaders sharpened their skills and built on their strengths, your contributions added a more confidence to their stride and enabled them to dream bigger!

Thank you for partnering with us in making the Right to Education real! As we start a new year with many more futures to shape, we look forward to your continued support!
