Dear En Vero Donors.
This is now our 14th Report with GlobalGiving.
Thanks to you, to our followers, and our local partners in those countries where wrongful convictions, arbitrary detentions, and violations of human rights occur, we have already been able to accomplish so much: innocent persons have been released from jail, unfair sentences have been overturned, investigations are going forward, and truths are being revealed. Our concept of "guilt-manufacture" (fabrication de coupables en Français, fabricación de culpables in Spanish) is now widely used in countries such as Mexico and Colombia, where we have been able to actively participate in conferences, seminars, and other events, and present cases of systematic practices of wrongful convictions.
Yet, despite our successes (such as the recent release of Master Mohammad Ali Taheri in Iran in May 2019, after more than 8 years spent in solitary confinement in an Iranian prison), much remains to be done to end the suffering of those who are unjustly incarcerated and their families.
