Haiti has been in great turmoil for over a year. Following the assassination of the president, Haitians have faced fuel shortages, protests, price increases for basic goods and services, and great uncertainty about the country’s future. As an organization, we have been steadfast in supporting our partner facilities and our commitment to our mission. However, we have not been immune to the instability facing the country. We have had to postpone certain projects and prioritize others. In the case of the ultrasound training project, we have postponed the start of the training due to the safety concerns of our volunteer instructors. At the same time, we are looking into alternatives to holding the training in Haiti, including the possibility of organizing the training in the United States or neighboring countries.
