Ukraine Weekly update 04/02/2022
Disaster Aid USA has funded a SAR (Search and Rescue) Team to Kyiv Ukraine. The Team is a highly qualified team of Veterans, combat medics, SAR certified personnel and operational experts. DAUSA has worked with Crowd Resource Rescue and Veterans without Borders through our own rescue boat operation over the last few years in floods and hurricane deployments and know them personally. They do not take this lightly and are well prepared with communication and operation plans 30 pages long. They are rotating teams every 14 days to evacuate disabled Ukrainian and to help with search and rescue operations in bombed out parts of the city and country.
DAUSA entered into a joint project with the Rotary Club of Warsaw City to purchase an ambulance to be sent into Ukraine to continually transport the sick and wounded out to Poland. The pictures of the ambulance are attached, and this will be an on going long-term project to fill a much need void.
DAUSA through our American contact in Poland, who as we reported earlier evacuated members of his family from Ukraine, and those who stayed are relaying needs and supply list to him and DAUSA in Poland. We are continually filling those needs of food, medical supplies, baby food and items, and a wide variety of others supplies in short supply in the city under artillery and, missile attack.
His family is also disturbing these supplies, under artillery and sniper fire. We have supplied them with body armor and thermal imaging (FLIR) so they can distribute supplies to those in needs at night at less risk to everyone. They are also helping to evacuate the wounded. She sent us a very moving video thanking us for body armory so she, her husband and others can be protected while helping their city. Due to Security reason, we will not post the video now as she and possibly the location could be recognized. But to see a civilian crying and thanking you for receiving body armor so she can continue to help supply her neighbors with basic lifesaving supplies, solidifies that your efforts are true and correct.
DAUSA also just purchased enough food to feed another 10,500 people and will be put to use this week. Another avenue of serving those in this terrible situation.
Summary of aid to date.
We continue through our personal contacts and team members, years of experience and logistical contacts made over those years to make sure donations are spent on verifiable needed aid, know the logistical chain and know the end users or recipients.
Act quickly, decisively, and informed is a must.
Inaction…is an action. We prefer to act!
Thank you for your support together we are standing up for the Ukrainian People!
