From April to June 2026, our Udayan Ghars continued to prioritise the holistic growth and wellbeing of every child through care, education, life skills, and emotional support. Below are a few key updates and inspiring stories from our homes during this period.
Shikha (name changed) lost her father and, was found in a vulnerable condition near a temple with her younger sister. Both were placed at Udayan Ghar for Girls. Despite her difficult circumstances, Shikha remained bright, disciplined, and committed to her education. In 2024, she cleared the entrance examination for the prestigious, residential school at Alwar, Rajasthan - ‘The Sagar School’. For some reasons, she could not join the school at that time, which affected her emotionally. With continuous counselling, encouragement, and psychosocial support from the Udayan Care team, she regained confidence and remained focused on her goals. In April 2026, her perseverance paid off as she secured admission to The Sagar School, where she completed her first academic year with an impressive 78.2%. She has adapted well to life in a boarding school, actively participates in school activities, maintains positive relationships with peers and teachers, and is steadily developing greater independence, confidence, and resilience.
Anil (name changed) was rescued from an unsafe living environment by the police and the child welfare committee in Gurgaon and admitted to the Udayan Ghar Program as an orphan child. Having experienced neglect and separation from his elder sister, Anil initially struggled with sadness, anxiety, and adjusting to a new environment. At Udayan Ghar, he received a safe, nurturing, family-like environment along with emotional counselling, academic support, and a structured routine. He gradually developed confidence and emotional stability and demonstrated strong academic potential, completing Class V with an impressive 88%, with a particular interest and aptitude in Mathematics. His hard work and perseverance enabled him to clear the entrance examination for The Sagar School, where he secured admission. Anil's journey reflects his remarkable resilience and how consistent care, mentoring, emotional support, and access to quality education can help children overcome adversity and realise their potential.
