Together, with committed individuals and institutions, Udayan Care continues to champion the right of every child and youth to a life of opportunity, protection, and belonging.
From January to March 2026, our Udayan Ghars continued to prioritise the holistic growth and wellbeing of every child through care, education, life skills, and emotional support. Below are a few key updates and inspiring stories from our homes during this period.
Child Development Highlights:
Sonal (name changed), an 11-year-old orphan, was living with her uncle and aunt in difficult conditions without access to education or basic learning resources. Identified by CHILDLINE, she was placed under the care of Udayan Care through the Child Welfare Committee in July 2022. The Udayan Ghar team provided personalised academic support and facilitated her school admission directly into Class 2 at Paramhansa Senior Secondary School. Since then, Sonal has shown remarkable academic progress, consistently scoring above 90%, earning a Gold Medal in the Abacus classes, and actively participating in extracurricular activities. Her journey reflects resilience, self-discipline, and the transformative impact of timely care and educational support.
Priya (Name changed), a 17-year-old girl, experienced severe neglect, violence, and emotional abuse after her parents’ separation and remarriage. Following police intervention, she was placed under the care of Udayan Care, where she received medical support, counselling, education, and skill development opportunities. Through continuous emotional support and a safe environment, Priya gradually rebuilt her confidence and resilience. She successfully scored above 65% in her Class 10 NIOS examinations, developed strong stitching skills, and discovered an interest in arts and crafts. Her remarkable transformation from a withdrawn and fearful child to a confident and goal-oriented young woman is further reflected in her selection for admission to Dalhousie Public School.
