Together, with committed individuals and institutions, Udayan Care continues to champion the right of every child and youth to a life of opportunity, protection, and belonging.
From September to December 2025, our Udayan Ghars continued to prioritise the holistic growth and wellbeing of every child through care, education, life skills, and emotional support. Below are a few key updates and inspiring stories from our homes during this period.
Child Development Highlights
Sia’s Journey of Growth:
Sia, a 15-year-old residing at Udayan Ghar Lajpat Nagar, has made remarkable strides since joining us in 2018. Diagnosed with intellectual disability and ADHD, she initially faced significant communication and emotional challenges. Through consistent psychiatric care, counseling, and sign language training, Sia has learned to express herself better, manage her emotions, and participate actively in daily routines and group activities. Her journey reflects the power of trauma-informed, multidisciplinary care in transforming young lives.
Rahul’s Academic Success:
Rahul, aged 8, joined Udayan Ghar in 2022 with literacy challenges but immense determination. With daily academic support, tuition classes, and structured guidance from the Ghar team, Rahul showed continuous improvement in reading and writing. His dedication paid off as he completed his schooling and gained admission to an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), taking a strong step toward independence and a sustainable livelihood.
Capacity Building and Learning
Our staff participated in a two-day First Aid and Emergency Response Training conducted by Emmanuel Hospital Association, learning CPR, wound care, and fire safety measures to enhance emergency preparedness at our homes.
To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Deepak Gupta, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, led a session on understanding childhood disorders and the importance of early, individualised support. The discussion deepened caregivers’ understanding of children with special needs and reinforced our holistic care approach.
Children continued their weekly learning sessions at U&I Academy with special educators focusing on English, science, and math, while Adidas’ Financial Literacy classes every Friday made learning about money fun and interactive for children in grades 6–8.
Celebrations and Community Engagement
Each activity and achievement during this period reinforces our belief that with consistent care, love, and structured guidance, every child can thrive and reach their full potential. We remain deeply grateful for your continued support, which allows us to provide the nurturing environment our children need to grow into confident and independent individuals.
Conclusion:
Udayan Ghars continues to provide a safe, nurturing, and family-like environment where children can heal, learn, and grow into confident, responsible young adults. The journeys of children like Sia and Rahul demonstrate that with sustained emotional care, educational support, and structured life skills, early adversity can be transformed into resilience and opportunity.
Strengthened by specialised trainings for caregivers, meaningful partnerships, and rich community-based activities, the homes are consistently advancing Udayan Care’s vision of giving every child dignity, belonging, and a pathway to independence. This progress is possible only through the solidarity of compassionate supporters, and continued partnership will ensure that many more children at Udayan Ghars can realise their potential and transition into adulthood with hope and stability
