Loss of trust accompanies our human story. Some losses are easily managed, replaced with something else, healed by time and support, or accepted for their irreplaceable teaching us about ourselves. Loss of trust can also break a heart, shatter a life if no intervention happens.
Since January this year until now, September, we at Ubuntu Education have worked and strategized with a sister organization to give hope and a future to Senzo **, a young man who has grown up with emotional abuse, poverty and dire lack of family support. What does he trust anymore? Not himself, not his alcoholic mother, not the system. In a remarkable miracle, in May, he was 'found ' by his birth father and subsequently warmly invited to join that family system. This was the first amazing step. The second amazing step has been the faithful work of seasoned family intervention workers.
With our colleagues, well versed in accountability and strategizing, we have spent time, commitment, phone calls, and funding to follow a careful pathway for Senzo** out of despair and failure, into trust and achievement.
This is Week 2 of a basic computer course. After this Senzo** will enroll in a drivers licensing course, towards getting the coveted, empowering Drivers License. We are in negotiation with a Landscape and Tree Felling business , with a manager willing to hire an dmentor young Senzo in job discipline skills and income generation. He needs to find out what appeals to him as a skill . His new family is committed to providing the stability, accountability and living needs if Ubuntu Educaiton helps with the other costs. As a steady bottom line, the mentors of Inpired Hope continue to offer supportive presence, add important aspects like counseling and inclusion into good experiences, showing Senzo** how to commit to opporutnity on his own behalf
Trust is reborn in response to demonstrated worthiness. Further, trust is bestowed on us as coming from the River of Love from its Source, through us and we bestow it upon each other. Thank you to our donors who trust kids like Senzo** through the trust Ubuntu Educaiton works hard to build an dmaintain. And cheers for Senzo** as he runs the path towards his future.
** Senzo is not his real name
