Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project to respond to the needs of the local population affected by Typhoon Melor. We used our hilux vehicle and send a team to municipalities in Eastern Samar. International NGO's were also quick to respond. we found out during our initial assessment that even before the typhoon, the need for toilet facilities is already high in the area and in some villages we went, families without toilets were as high as 65%. They defecate in the bush or in plastic and throw the waste at night and the possibility of epidemic caused by open defecation is very high. Our next move is to contact a few of the international NGO's working in the area so that they will adopt our toilet models and thus help solve the problem of open defecation.
