By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project to provide food via vegetables to Typhoon Haiyan survivors still living in temporary shelters. The good thing with this project is that residents are very active in tending their vegetable plots and there is a sense of friendly competition. All members of the families who are doing gardening tend to assist each other and they are encouraged some more when they see the vegetables growing and when they harvest the crops. Most of the time, the harvest is for their own food with some surplus sold to neighbors or given to relatives. This time is area preparation so that the plots are ready for planting at the onset of the rainy season. A total of 135 families have already prepared their plots. We will then provide them with the organic fertilizer and vegetable seeds when the rains start.
Thank you again for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
