This project will help 150 families across Typhoon and Earthquake-affected communities in the Philippines rebuild safe, livable homes. Through Gawad Kalinga's Operation Walang Iwanan, we will repair roofs, strengthen structures, and support vulnerable households in Cebu, Negros, Dinagat, Palawan, and other hard-hit areas. Each repaired home is a step toward safety, dignity, and recovery for families who have lost everything.
Recent typhoons and earthquakes have left thousands of families across Cebu, Negros, Dinagat, Palawan, Bicol and nearby areas with damaged or destroyed homes. Roofs have been torn off, walls weakened, and entire structures made unsafe. Many families are still in evacuation centers or living in makeshift shelters, exposed to rain, heat, and illness. The most affected are low-income households who lack the resources to repair their homes without support.
Through Gawad Kalinga's Operation Walang Iwanan, this project will rehabilitate at least 60 damaged homes, benefiting around 150 families. Support includes roofing replacement, structural reinforcement, essential materials, skilled labor, and coordination with barangays and LGUs. Families will receive the materials and guidance needed to safely repair their homes, allowing them to return from evacuation centers and rebuild their lives in dignity and safety.
Rehabilitated homes will provide lasting safety and stability for at least 150 families, reducing their vulnerability to future disasters. Stronger roofs and reinforced structures will better withstand storms and earthquakes. The project helps restore a sense of security, keeps families together in their communities, and allows parents and children to return to normal routines such as work and school. In the long term, it strengthens community resilience and disaster preparedness.
