The 2026-2027 school year is officially underway. On Wednesday, September 2, our team packed up school kits and fanned out across our five communities so 29 of our students could start the year ready to learn.
Each kit was built for the child who'd receive it. Our 7 primary students got notebooks, book covers, pens, pencils, an eraser, and the textbooks their curriculum calls for. Our 22 secondary students got the same core supplies, plus a small allowance set aside for the extra materials their schools tend to ask for once the year's under way.
The handoffs started at PK11 in Sèyivè and carried on through Akassato, Agassa-Godomey, Adjavié, and Fandji. It's a lot of ground to cover, but there's nothing quite like a stack of fresh notebooks that are entirely, unmistakably yours.
A well-stocked pencil case is a small thing and an enormous thing at once. It says: you belong in that classroom, we're expecting you, and we're in your corner for the whole year ahead. Thank you for making that possible for 29 students this fall.
