Furniture Finders has had a busy Fall. We have helped 310 families since October 2018 and we continue to have many families still in need after Hurricane Florence. We are fortunate to have several community partner agencies that sent us referrals (Catholic Charities, Harrelson Center, Help Hub, Endeavors, DART, First Fruit Ministries, Hope for NC, Dept. of Social Services, etc.)
We have continued to receive furniture donations, but often have to purchase some of the items that are in more demand (mattresses, dressers and small kitchen tables). We just purchased 6 twin mattresses last week and two dressers. We received a large shipment of Lazy Boy sofas and hope to get another shipment of mattresses in mid December.
We value our 5 committed "regular" volunteers as well as the many that come to help various weekends. The families that we help are what make all of it worthwhile.
