This holiday season, offset the carbon footprint from sending gifts with a contribution to Camino Verde. We are busy reducing greenhouse gases in two important ways: turning waste charcoal dust back into the soil as a major carbon sink, and planting trees.
In fact, this time around the sun we’re so excited about the new year that we’ve decided to plant some extra trees.
Between now and January 31st, we will plant a tree for every new “like” on Camino Verde’s Facebook page. As I write this, 2,070 people like CV. In the next month and a half, let’s see how many trees we can get planted. Spread the word. Every person who clicks like on our page is one more tree planted in the Peruvian Amazon: http://www.facebook.com/CaminoVerdePeru
In the meantime, we plan to continue enriching the soils of Tambopata, Peru with charcoal that would otherwise be burned or thrown in the river. That’s what this little project is all about.
Thanks for your support! And have a wonderful holiday season.
