Earthquake Relief by CHCS in Turkiye
Respected Donors,
Season Greetings...!
It gives me immense pleasure to inform you about the inception of our project following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkiye and Syria on February 6th, 2023, claiming the lives of over 60,000 individuals. In response, the CHCS team promptly visited the affected areas in Turkiye and Syria during the last week of February 2023, extending relief aid to the affected populations residing in makeshift camps in the province of Adiyaman, Turkiye. Our relief efforts persisted thereafter, with shipments of essential supplies including medicines, surgical equipment, and clothing dispatched to the affected regions. Additionally, during the Holy month of Ramadan, we arranged Aftari meals for hundreds of families.
We are grateful for the recognition of our relief efforts by His Excellency Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, the Honorable Ambassador of Turkiye, who presented a certificate to the patron-in-chief of CHCS during his visit to the office of the Federal Tax Ombudsman. Presently, a consignment of surgical equipment is being prepared for dispatch to field hospitals established to provide medical assistance to the earthquake-affected populations of Syria and Turkiye. CHCS has been actively providing relief aid to the earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria through our own resources and in collaboration with the GlobalGiving Foundation, USA.
Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) appeals to donors worldwide to support CHCS in its mission to provide further relief and medical assistance to the earthquake-affected populations of Turkiye and Syria.
Warm regards,
Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah, Project Leader
