" I am very grateful for the effort you are making to make sure that the Nakuru TB Photovoice group rolls out successfully. l really appreciate your organization's endurance and persistence. I am still in contact with participants that l identified and believe things will work out."
Alice, TB Photovoice- Nakuru, Kenya Facilitator
Dear TB Photovoice friends,
Best intentions can take persistence and time. In late 2011, TB Photovoice trained TB health care workers to implement a TB Photovoice group in Nakuru, Kenya. They were so enthusiastic and motivated, and their facilitator, Alice, eagerly sought out potential participants in the Nakuru community. Yet, the matching funds from a partner organization never materialized. We have been advising and supporting Nakuru as they searched for new funding sources. They have the knowledge and heart to see this project through. What they are lacking are the material resources to truly make it happen.
TB Photovoice has some strong leads with an NGO in Kenya that could oversee the implementation of the Nakuru project. If we can show that there is funding available for their success, Alice can get this long awaited project in motion. This would allow persons impacted by TB in Nakuru the opportunity to be supported and to help the overall community understand the realities of TB.
You can help! We are highly motivated to see that Nakuru thrives. You can help our efforts by contributing to our campaign at a level that works best for you.
If all of our GlobalGiving donors reached out today with a donation of $50, we would be well on our way to implementing the newest TB Photovoice project! You can make it happen!
