Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your generous support to our project growing trees in order to provide food and improve biodiversity in upland areas. Population pressure in the lowlands has forced farmers to seek more areas to farm and there is a need to integrate the growing of trees as well as food crops in an area. Before, the strategy of growing tree plantations are no longer feasible because of growing population and communities. This reporting period we continue to train and provide for families engage in farming the uplands in the art of what we call agro-reforestation which include the growing of vegetables and other cash crops together with the planting of trees. A total of 120 farming families were assisted during this time. Hoping for your continuing support to us. Thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre

Biodiversity improvement is key
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative tree growing in order to improve food access and in order to promote biodiversity in mountain villages. Encroachment of lowland people as well as the need for agricultural land results to the massive loss of biodiversity and there is a need to improve them while at the same time ensuring that upland dwellers have food to eat and income so they live in better conditions. This reporting period, we continue to conduct small group discussions and awareness raising activities in order to encourage farmers to grow trees in their farms. Some of the farmers said that their land area is small and so we encourage them to plant in their land boundaries. Hoping for your continuing support to our project. During this period we are able to conduct 2 awareness campaign with 38 farmers participating and hoping we will be able to increase the number in the coming days.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre

Dear Friend,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative tree growing for food and biodiversity improvement. We are happy and excited to inform you that through your gifts, and despite the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic and massive changes in weather as a result of climate change, we continue to implement this very important project. Tree growing is essential in order to save our planet and we are focusing our attention to the growing of Philippine most important fruit and timber trees. These are important for improvement of biodiversity as well as giving income to farmers because of the value of their fruits or of their wood and other by-products. This reporting period we are able to establish 1 small tree nursery in a village and plant a total of 1,700 trees. Hoping for your generous support and wishing you the best in your endeavours.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
