The project "Detect and treat 1000 severe anemic women in Karnataka" aimed to detect and treat 1000 women and create a sustainable model by working with Government health enter, colleges, the various groups in the community. This project implemented in collaboration with Government Community Health Centre, Harohalli, Bangalore
Amici conducted 11 Anemia screening camps and detected 1685 women and girls with Anemia. 21 severe anemic women treated with injections. 534 women received Iron plus tablets. Deworming tablets were provided for 975 girls.
The project strengthened eleven Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC). A total of 131 VHSNC members and 156 women Self-Help Group (SHG) members have trained on Anemia related health and social issues.
Overall awareness about Anemia increased and people became more health conscious about, symptoms, nutrition food for anemia, the importance of Deworming, iron plus tablets, etc.
This project became sustainable in nature; hence, we are withdrawing this project from Harohalli Bangalore.
