Like so many stray dogs in the New Orleans area, this magnificent Mastiff is one of many. We had been receiving several calls about a "large emaciated dog" that no one could catch in the desolate part of New Orleans East area. We were finally able to catch him and rushed him to our vet due to his serious physical condition. Infested with every single type of worm and starved for what appeared to be weeks, his liver is failing. His heart worm disease is so severe that he is in danger of going into cardiac arrest at any moment. Baldur is now on heavy medication to try and save his life. Sadly this is the "norm" for so many of the dogs we rescue since moving to Louisiana. Our vet expenses have quadrupled from those in California. There is no way that we can continue to help these dogs without the help of others, like yourself, who care.
