REPORT
PROGRAMS IN FULFILLMENT OF THE FOUNDATION'S OBJECTIVES.

CULTURAL HOUSE (ART AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION): Our project’s objective is to make an active contribution to society by attracting children through music and later support them in school activities, technical skills, ecological education, within the concept of sustainable development. The combination of these areas helps us strive for ecological viability and social justice, while improving the life of these children and their families The following programs are active:
1. MUSIC: Our Music program has 85 students and it is divided into 5 groups: musical initiation, children's band, youth band, guitars and piano. In class, cross-cutting topics such as global warming, the greenhouse effect, alternative energies, species protection and resource conservation are addressed. Quarter of intense musical activity: participation in the meeting of symphonic bands of the department and several concerts, including one at the sports center in the Panorama neighborhood with the presence of municipal authorities of Neiva, as well as another at the Padre Arturo school. 2. GODPARENTS PLAN: The Godparents plan has 29 contributors that support the education of 19 students at Salesians Colegio and 10 students at the YES Institute. The purpose of this program is to provide extra ordinary educational opportunities to those students that show special talents or needs, and would benefit from receiving education from a private school rather than a public institution 3. TECHNO-ACADEMY: This special program is aimed to support the technical talents of 6 students (11 to 13 years old). It is a support for our environmental initiative, with learning activities related to science and technology and environmental education. It teaches robotic, artificial intelligence and computer programing.
4. READING CLUB (Green Planet): This group focuses on at least 20 children between 8 and 14 years old and has the support and participation of some parents with the skills to enhance their reading skills. This club encourages reading to promote citizen values such as respect, leadership, honesty and care for the environment, contributing to social peace. 5. ENGLISH: Thanks to the support of the YES Institute of Neiva and under the slogan of the FIRST BILINGUAL NEIGHBORHOOD, 60 children between 7 and 14 years old participate in English classes. These include beginner, pre-band and youth band music levels. It promotes the learning and use of the English language with to enhance their education and promote future employment opportunities.
6. PEDAGOGICAL CONFERENCES We provide support to the children by giving periodic pedagogical sessions based on the Don Bosco Preventive System: This system, has been used for over 120 years by the Salesian schools, provide guidelines for working with educators; meeting with young people, digital citizenship, behavior, attitudes and norms of respect. It is a proven system to enhance the possibilities of success in education.
7. PLANETA CIRCULAR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATIONAL DAYS:
The plan raises awareness about the environment, biodiversity, recycling, pollution reduction and respect for life, involving families in these issues. The activities include lessons on how to respect the environment, planting threes and flowers, to adopt a tree, learn to care for plans, recycle and the proper use of disposal of organic residues.
