Transforming Lives through Education Rural Oaxaca

Dear donors

With great joy in our hearts, we want to share with you the progress and achievements that have blossomed in our Ananda learning community, here in the Sierra of Oaxaca.

Our closing ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year, in early July, was a deeply moving celebration. We tenderly watched two little ones from preschool say goodbye to their group to begin their journey in elementary school. We also celebrated 8 teenagers who completed their elementary education to continue at Ananda's secondary school. To this day, this is the largest graduating class we have ever had, and it fills us with immense happiness.

In secondary school, we said goodbye to 4 young people who are continuing their high school education outside the community. They leave full of enthusiasm, unforgettable experiences, and a loving education that will accompany and guide them throughout their lives. They have already written their story in Ananda, and that moment will remain forever in our hearts.

In September, we began a new school year with open hearts. We welcomed new students to the Children's House (kindergarten), a larger group, full of movement, curiosity, and work. New families and elementary and secondary students have also joined us.

We deeply believe in teamwork. That is why, this year, we are inviting families to be a more active part of the school. Every Friday, parents share their knowledge by leading workshops for elementary and secondary students. Each child chooses according to their interests: art, sports, painting, embroidery, weaving, hairstyles, and much more. It is a beautiful activity, because in addition to strengthening our bonds as a community, children can explore, discover, and learn new things freely.

Another piece of news that fills us with hope is the delivery of Montessori materials to 4 CONAFE seed schools near our community. It has been a challenge in terms of delivery times and budget, but there is a team working with great love and intensity. We have already managed to deliver two-thirds of the material to create and equip the Montessori environments in these schools. Together with the teacher training through the diploma course that culminates in December, we are sowing the beginning of a new form of education in the mountains. All of this is possible thanks to everyone's collaboration.
