Dear Supporters,
Your generosity continues to create ripples of transformation across Uganda's healthcare landscape, particularly for vulnerable mothers and newborns in rural communities. Through your support, we're not just building facilities—we're empowering local healthcare heroes who serve on the frontlines every day.
Meet Judith, a dedicated midwife whose 15-year journey in maternal healthcare embodies the heart of our mission. When she began her career, Judith had a simple yet profound dream: to bring a smile to every mother's face. Working in underserved areas of Uganda, she witnessed firsthand the challenges pregnant women and adolescent girls face during childbirth—complications exacerbated by poverty, lack of skilled care, and cultural barriers to seeking healthcare.
In 2018, Judith's career took a transformative turn when she connected with Bulamu Healthcare. Through your support, she received comprehensive training in Helping Babies Breathe, a WHO-recommended program that can reduce newborn deaths by up to 50%. Today, Judith stands as a champion of these life-saving techniques at her local facility, mentoring colleagues and saving lives daily.
"Every woman deserves access to safe pregnancy and childbirth care, regardless of her circumstances," Judith often says. With the equipment and training made possible by donors like you, she's now making a significant difference—ensuring that no mother faces the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth alone.
This is the direct impact of your generosity. Every day across our 104 partner facilities, similar stories unfold—lives transformed because people like you have made it possible. Each trained midwife, each properly equipped delivery room, and each implemented WHO-recommended practice represents mothers and babies who return home healthy and thriving.
Thank you for helping us transform maternal and newborn care across Uganda. Your support doesn't just save lives—it strengthens entire communities and gives the next generation a healthier start.
