Do you know what my favourite part of the game is?

The opportunity to play                            -Mike Singletary

Sports play a pivotal role in the makeup of a young athlete, especially between middle school and high school years when they are exposed to opportunities. It is invaluable and goes much further than the basic answer that “it keeps children off the streets.” It instils a sense of self-confidence, camaraderie and team spirit among young children – and this is what best describes this year’s Annual Sports Day, held on 19th and 20th September.

Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Handball, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tug-of-war, Shot-put, track events like 100m race, 400m race and relay races were organised through the week. Children gave their best in every sport and received medals for their credibility.

The four school houses Kachnar (Red), Gulmohar (Blue), Amaltas (Yellow),and Dhak (Green) competed with vigour. Kachnar won the Best House Trophy for 2019-20 with Gulmohar being the runners-up.

Sheetal was awarded the Overall Best Sportsperson Trophy for 2019-20. In junior category Khushi received the Best Sportsperson and Vishal won the Best Sportsperson in the senior category, for the year 2019-20.

PYDS students have also participated in and won several competitions outside the school -
