SUMMARY
The reusable pads project continues to empower GBV Survivors through vocational skills training, reusable sanitary pads production, and livelihood support activities. Survivors are actively involved in sewing and production work, helping them gain practical skills, confidence, and income-generating opportunities. The project also promotes menstrual hygiene management by producing affordable sanitary pads for vulnerable women and girls. In addition, survivors participate in farming and other empowerment activities that support healing, self-reliance, and a long-term recovery
CHALLENGES
Production activities faced challenges such as rising costs of fabrics and supplies, and occasional machines breakage and maintenance. Completing the expected number within the planned timeline also required additional labor and coordination.
SOLUTIONS
To overcome these challenges, the team improved work coordination and maximized available materials and sewing equipment. The survivors work collaboratively to increase production efficiency while continuing skills transfer and quality control during sewing process
LONG-TERM IMPACT
The reusable pads project contributes to improved menstrual hygiene, school retention for girls, environmental conservation through reduced disposable waste, and economic empowerment for women trained in reusable pad production. The skills gained will continue helping beneficiaries generate income and support their sustainability
