Djully, POETA beneficiary
Djully, POETA beneficiary

Here at the Trust for the Americas, we are happy to share the stories behind our efforts. Which wouldn’t have been possible without the convergence of multiple actors. Here at our Organization, we know the importance of highlighting accomplishments of our partners, as they are extremely valuable when it comes to materializing an opportunity. Thanks to AVAPE and UNILEHU, and every donation made, the Trust was able to accomplish this year’s goals so far.

Djully, is 26 years old, and lives with her husband João and her 8 year old daugther. Djully suffered a genetic condition that resulted in a physical disability, which unfortunately got worse during her pregnancy, and left herin need of a wheelchair to get around. Thus, this has not stopped her from learning and dreaming of becoming a graphic designer. She approached the POETA Center because of her interest in taking the Basic Computer course. Since then, she’s also taken the Personal Finance and Preparation for the World of Work courses, which have helped her find a job. With this job, she is saving up to pay for her university studies.

"The courses at the POETA Center have helped me learn how to use image editing software which will be helpful in my future, and POETA has also positively impacted in my family", Djully remarks. In the future, while continuing to work, she hopes to be able to take more courses.

With your help, the POETA Social Franchise will be able to continue to work for the social and economic inclusion of vulnerable populations in the Americas in this coming year, fighting to achieve more rights for more people.
