We’re halfway there!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and a massive thank you to Meridian Global for our $10,000 grant that we received last year. With this funding, we can begin to roll out the outreach project, firstly by educating and training 100 mothers of children with special needs so they’re equipped to conduct outreach.
The Strong Mamas will be walking through the township of Kitengela to encourage pregnant women to attend hospital for regular check-ups and support them through their labour concerns, and encourage Strong Mamas to attend the weekly support group and bring their kids to school.
Each outreach will be conducted in pairs and each pair is part of a small group. These small groups have their own business ideas to create financial independence. Strong Mamas have pledged to put their earnings towards their group goals.
We’re very excited to get started on this project and we can’t wait to raise the remaining funds so the community is supported holistically.
