With the start of the new school year in February we've seen some exciting growth in and through the Training Center in Sebaco. We now have 30 students enrolled in computer classes at the Training Center and we're always hoping to enroll more as we recieve more computer donations! Computer literacy is a great vocational skill to have in Nicaragua and can provide a real way out of the most extreme forms of poverty that exist in the remote Nicaraguan villages we serve.
We've also begun holding a marriage workshop class to help encourage couples as they work to develop strong, healthy and caring relationships. The workshop will last for three months and participants will meet twice monthly at the Training Center in Sebaco. We have 12 couples signed up from 6 different villages! We're excited to watch this group of great men and woman learn and grow.
And who would have known that a chance encounter running into a basebal lorganization on a flight to Nicaragua would turn into an opportunity to receive donations for forming a new baseball team in a VERY remote village of Nicaragua! Nicaraguans love baseball even MORE than soccer so this opportunity to field a team with new equipment and uniforms is a real thrill. Play ball!
