After stopping for more than a year due to the lack of donations that the project received during the year 2022, the project won a grant of $35,575 from the Hope in Crisis Fund - emergency and long-term support for communities affected by humanitarian crises in Yemen and the Democratic Republic of the Congo - supported by GlobalGiving
A plan was drawn up to train and rehabilitate 50 displaced women in Yemen during the year 2023, divided into four programmes.
With the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, which began today, Thursday, March 23 (which is a sacred month for Muslims, where they perform the duty of fasting throughout the lunar month), AWTAD hastened to implement a training and rehabilitation program for the third batch of 20 displaced women in the field of producing baked goods, pastries and sweets, because the demand for Bakery, pastries and desserts rise significantly during Ramadan
It is a great opportunity to promote and market the products that will be produced by the home-based projects of the displaced families that will be rehabilitated and supported
This batch was implemented in partnership with:
Khairat Foundation for Training and Development of Productive Families

It has good experience in this field. The training course has been implemented in its laboratories, according to a partnership agreement signed with it.
and with Wahj ALHayah Foundation For Dev.

The program included four phases
The first: selecting qualified displaced women to participate in the program. This stage lasted a whole week
The with Wahj ALHayah Foundation and the Khairat Foundation prepared a list of displaced women who are nominated to participate in the program.
And a team of social researchers was formed to go to the field sites for the displaced female candidates and select 20 displaced women according to the pre-determined conditions and criteria.
The second stage: the intensive training course: which lasted a full month with a total of 60 training hours (20 training days - 3 hours per day): from February 26 to March 20, 2022, the training course included the theoretical and practical aspects, in addition to basic information in the field of packaging Products, marketing, financial inclusion and project management
All materials and tools required for training were provided, including raw materials for practical application. Transportation allowance and daily breakfast were also provided for the trainees.
The third stage: Establishing small home projects and starting the pilot production phase: where all basic equipment, tools and raw materials were purchased to establish small home projects for each trainee, and on March 21, 2022, an honoring ceremony was held for the trainees, and small home projects were handed over to each trainee and transported and delivered to the residence of each displaced person
This was done only two days before the month of Ramadan, and according to the program plan, the displaced women will start home production at the beginning of the month of Ramadan
The fourth stage: which is marketing, follow-up and evaluation: which will be implemented during the month of Ramadan, from March 25 to April 20, 2023, during which a plan will be implemented for marketing and promoting the products of home projects, as well as follow-up and evaluation of the trainees and solving any problems or difficulties that they will face.
After the completion of the fourth stage, a comprehensive report will be prepared, and recommendations will be made to deal with any difficulties encountered by the home projects of this batch
The follow-up and evaluation team made field trips on April 3 and 4 to visit all the trainees and learn about the home projects, and find out the difficulties and obstacles they face, in order to prepare a marketing program for their products.
