On Thursday, October 31, 2019, the third phase of the first batch (20 IDPs) of a project to rehabilitate and train 300 IDPs in Yemen in work and production, implemented by Awtad Anti-Corruption Organization in coordination with Wahaj Al Hayat Foundation for Development and Rights in Yemen
The first phase of this project began in March with the selection of women displaced by the war in Yemen, who have lost their breadwinner and no longer have a source of income and basic needs for their children.
Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni families displaced by the war
The project aims to qualify and train 300 families in production and household industries, and provide the necessary means to launch their own projects
The project received donations through a campaign by GlobalGiving at the end of 2018 amounting to US $ 5,216, which was allocated to launch the first batch of 20 IDPs.
The second phase was implemented last October, through a training program for home manufacturing of perfumes, incense, cosmetics, women's bags and accessories, in addition to training courses in psychological support, marketing and project management.
Today, the third stage of domestic production begins: the project provided the trainees with all the raw materials and tools necessary to launch their own projects and carry out household production.
We see the joy and smile of the presence of displaced women benefiting from this project, having become a secure and continuous source of income, which guarantees them and their children a decent life.
The fourth phase will be implemented in December by establishing a marketing and promotional program for the products that will be produced during the third phase
The project still has a long way to go, targeting 280 families, needs funding of approximately US $ 75,000 to achieve this, and invites donors to participate in the support through the project's web link.
