Dear Teachers for Rural Futures Donors,
Graduate Women International (GWI) extends heartfelt thanks for your generous donations to the "Teachers for Rural Futures: Train 50 Women Teachers in Uganda to Educate Thousands" initiative. Your support is crucial to sustaining the program, which thus far significantly impacts young women's education in rural Northern and Eastern Uganda.
Your donation has made a tangible difference. It has enabled the training of skilled female secondary school teachers in rural areas, significantly improving educational access for girls. We are proud to share that six young women have graduated with GWI scholarships. Two young women are ready to graduate in January 2025; another is on track to graduate in January 2026, and two new young women are enrolled to begin this fall. This progress is a testament to your generosity and the impact it has on these young women's lives. GWI is so proud of our students!
In 2024, GWI is expanding the Teachers for Rural Futures program to the Zombo district in Uganda, where over 40% of girls drop out of secondary school. This expansion is a direct result of your support and is a testament to the growing impact of our initiative.
In addition to expanding geographically, in 2025 the program will not only support education but provisions, thanks to your donations, will be added to address period poverty.
GWI is deeply grateful for your invaluable support. Your generosity is making a significant difference in the lives of these young women.
With appreciation,
Stacy Dry Lara
