Supported by your generous donations, ASHA Nepal trains women in the latest farming techniques through their very impressive sustainable agriculture program. These women are able to very successfully implement practices such as the use of organic manure and liquid urine pesticides, and other permaculture practices which promote harmonious livelihoods between farmers, animals, agriculture, and the landscape.
During the recent site visits to women's groups in Okharpauwa and Chhaimale, many women spoke about the related improvements to their health, well-being and self-sufficiency.
With land and water management training, the women know how to make maximum use of their steep hill-side plots of land, and new techniques have reduced or stopped land slippage. Individual women-run model farms in both districts are superb and are used for exposure visits for other women.
