At Fundación Corazón Raíz, we remain committed to strengthening educational opportunities for children in rural and Indigenous communities through the professional development of teachers in Zongolica, Veracruz.
Over the past months, our team has continued coordinating the next phase of the Teacher Training Forum for 250 primary school teachers working in highly marginalized communities. While financial limitations temporarily delayed the implementation of additional in-person sessions, this period has allowed us to reinforce strategic alliances and prepare for a stronger continuation of the program during the upcoming 2026–2027 school year, beginning in August.
In collaboration with the new municipal administration and regional educational authorities, we have been aligning priorities, schedules, and logistical support to ensure that the remaining workshops can be delivered with greater long-term sustainability and institutional backing.
The next training sessions will continue focusing on neuroeducation and social-emotional development, two critical areas within Mexico’s New Educational Model (Nueva Escuela Mexicana). These tools are especially important for teachers serving vulnerable communities, where students often face significant emotional, social, and educational challenges.
Although recent months have not included large-scale results, our work behind the scenes has continued. We have remained in close communication with participating teachers and local educational leaders to guarantee continuity, community engagement, and readiness for the next implementation phase.
Multiplying Impact
Supporting one teacher means transforming an entire classroom.
Each trained educator can positively influence approximately 20 students every school year through more inclusive, empathetic, and culturally relevant teaching practices.
By strengthening 250 teachers, this initiative has the potential to indirectly benefit more than 5,000 children annually across rural and Indigenous communities in Veracruz.
We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving and to every donor who believes in the power of education to create long-term change. Your support allows us to continue building partnerships, preparing future training opportunities, and advancing toward a more equitable educational system for all children.
Together, we continue moving forward with resilience, collaboration, and hope.
