Savin is the mother of five sons. She had to stop studying in grade five to take care her ill mother. She just grows vegetables and does housework. The main income was relied on her husband’s job who works as a Tuk Tuk driver.
Savin really likes sewing, as she thinks that it is a good skill for her as a woman. She used to learn this skill with her friend, but only for a short period as her friend got a serious sick, which forced her to stop.
She was curious to find the opportunity to learn again and fortunately she heard from her friend, who is our graduate sewing student about the new class at Human and Hope Association. She immediately came to register to learn with us.
After just three months, she applied for a sewing machine loan, which she could practice her lesson more at home and earned some income through fixing clothes for her neighbour. With her willingness and commitment, Savin completed our sewing class in January 2019, armed with a full set of sewing and life skill lessons, which give her a new hope in life.
She has now achieved her dream of opening a sewing shop at home. She has started to earn a good income.
“When I decided to join sewing class, I wanted to set up a shop at home and now my dream came true. Thank so much HHA for provided me this opportunity.”
